Maria Marino brings the vivid colours of her day-time landscapes into the evening with her pastel nocturnes. See a lot more of her perform (the two working day and evening) in our Voices of Encounter report. We have asked some of our preferred artists to show us examples of their night time paintings and to explain to us a minor little bit about their processes in this series of Nocturne Notes.
Marino shared with us these two examples of her exuberant, expressive pastel nocturne paintings. She instructed us that her intention is in “catching the mystery of that unique time of evening”

“In the conclude, it is about finding the viewer to experience
rather than to have an understanding of, to investigate relatively than to take a look at,
and to adore it relatively than to move it by.”
