Flat Rat: A Slammed1950 Ford COE Firetruck On Air

I know, I know, I claimed I’d put up much more of this 1950 Ford COE just more than a 7 days ago. My lousy, I bought a minor distracted. I’ll expose why quickly. But, just take these further pics of my penance.

This truck, known as the Flat Rat hails from Keswick Ontario and was designed by it is proprietor Scott Badger (@keswickscott).

Scott has owned the truck cab about ten yrs now. Factors definitely bought going on the truck about 5 several years back, with substantial progress being created during the pandemic.

From driving the tilt taxi to where the custom four-connection commences is most of a widened Chevy 3500 chassis. Ahead of the front wheels is generally manufacturing unit Ford with signficant modifications performed to make the steering do the job at the truck’s new peak.

The motor is a 7.3L Powerstroke with a T4 turbo enhance backed by an automated transmission.

Scott managed to hold as considerably first as he could, but he did have to switch a bit of sheet metal in this article and on the taxi. The new additions were sprayed by Scott in possibly white or purple.

Scott and his son also manufactured all 11 toes of the mattress from scratch.

Very little much more than an English wheel and a Princess Automobile bead roller was used in the mattress construction.

In fact, the whole truck was designed in a rather humble household garage. Proving once once again that wherever there is a will there’s a way when it will come to do-it-you fabrication. Some thing that definitely presented a bit of inspiration for my have job.

The tailgate of the truck is essentially a second COE entrance conclude that has been modified to create a tailgate. Scott filled the grill, made it hinge and took the Tremendous Duty embossing from a late model ford.

“If this is not Super Obligation I don’t know what is,” Scott mentioned.

For the eagle-eyed, certainly the tail lights are rotated versions from a 65 Ford Mustang, Rather intelligent if you question me.

Clearly, this truck is pretty much up my alley and I hope to see more of it again soon.

Ontario is back jamming yet again and I’m certainly below for it!
